Lucy Lawless and her husband, Rob Tapert, are proud and delighted to
announce the birth of their son, Julius Robert Bay Tapert on Saturday,
October 16 at 7:01 AM (NZ date/time) in Auckland, New Zealand.  the baby
was 21 1/2 inches long and weighed 8 lbs, 13 oz.  Mother, father, Julius'
big sister Daisy Lawless (age 11) and baby are all doing well.

Xena star Lucy Lawless gave birth to a son yesterday. Julius Robert Bay
Tapert was born at 7.01am in Auckland, weighing 3.99kg and measuring
55cm. A family spokeswoman said Lucy and Julius were "doing well".
Julius is the Kiwi actress's second child. He is her first to TV
producer husband Rob Tapert. Rob was yesterday at Lucy's side along with
Daisy Lawless, 11, Julius' big sister , and other family members.

The birth of "Xena-Junior" was written into the TV show's script. In a
dramatic four-part story, Xena learns she is pregnant and sets out on a
quest to acquire new powers to protect her child from danger. Shooting
of the hit series resumes early next month in New Zealand. The landmark
100th episode of XWP will be broadcast in January.

Lucy, 31, recently told raunchy men's magazine FHM that pregnancy had
left her feeling "a whole lot sexier".
